MY SEMESTER AT RMIT

From February to July 2023, I studied in Melbourne at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. This was a transformative experience that greatly enriched both my personal and professional journey. Beyond the classroom, I volunteered as a Back of House member at the prestigious Melbourne Fashion Festival, providing invaluable hands-on experience and insights into the industry.

Once I completed my studies, I took this time to explore more of what Australia has to offer, from the majestic Great Barrier Reef to the awe-inspiring Uluru. I greatly appreciated the country's natural beauty and indigenous culture. Learning about the many Aboriginal communities deepened my understanding of their rich heritage and its influence on contemporary Australian society. These experiences broadened my perspective, honed my skills, and instilled in me a global outlook that continues to inform my creative endeavours.

CLASSES

During my semester abroad, I immersed myself in a diverse array of fashion courses that significantly enhanced my creative and analytical skills.

In Fashion Expression, I focused on visual storytelling, creating a promotional poster and a zine for a chosen object, which honed my ability to convey compelling narratives through visuals.

Product Ranging allowed me to conceptualise a menswear collection centred around an upcoming trend, deepening my understanding of market forecasting and creative development.

Through Fashion Design Writing and Languages, I crafted exhibition reviews and engaged in creative writing tasks, refining my ability to articulate fashion concepts and critiques.

Lastly, in Fashion Design Object and Space, I developed an exhibit piece for a museum, blending spatial design with fashion to create immersive experiences. This comprehensive curriculum not only broadened my skill set but also enriched my approach to fashion design and communication.
